Subject
What a day at the #51 BOR.

The car was on the ball.
With the dry sump fuel setup working like a dream I was able to leave the line as
hard as I wanted.
just like in Phoenix I was able to cut good lights but this time the motor was making
power. Off the trailer with the safeguard hooked up (I am going to make this thing
work, I paid over 5 bills for it) the car was still spiting so unhook the safeguard.
now with the timing back to normal I made the first pass. 11.69@112mph "YES and NO"
"Yes" the car ran bad ass
but "NO" a little on the fast side. So I changed my shift points from 7400 to 7000.
Now I clicked off a 11.73 so change it again to now 6800 but still a 11.79 so come
Sunday it is time to race.
Now in Phoenix I had the luck of getting last years winner of the Supper Gas class
at that track.
Turbo Bob. I was able to cut a light but no power. This time my luck was back in the
same place.
I get John Schuerger for first round. LUCKY ME, this sucks!! Number one qualifier
and in points. I have been doing good on the tree, so hopefully that will help me out.
.470 light to Johns .560 so this put me out in front with John on the chase and was
able to pull that one out of my B-hine!! YES YES YES I cant believe I beat John Schuerger!!
I do have to say that John is a true sport to come to my pits and congrats me.
(Shit I thought he was going to hit me!!) next round was against Jim Martin in
the pink Turbo Manx that won last year at this track. I cut a .462 to Jims .601
light this did the same and put me out in front with a win at the end with a 12.02 to
Jims 11.86 brake out. I was for sure that Jim had me when he came around me at the
end of the track. The next round was up against Mike Meyer and I was looking
forward to this race ( the cockiness was setting in) Off the line with a .414 light to
Mikes .553 but something is wrong the car just came to a dead stop in the air.
Just as it hits the ground it fires up again but he is at least 60 to 70 feet out and
in the next gear. I try and run the car hard thinking that I will still catch him but
the car is spiting and cutting out so I check the fuel pumps but they are on, I
look at the tach and can tell its to do with electricity or power because the needle
is jumping all over the place like its waving at me or something. Well I catch
Mike but its on the return road !!! Turns out that my battery slid in the box and
ground out the B+ power.Thats Racing for you. Mr. Meyers was correct when
he said its probably the battery giving you the tach bouncing. I would like to
thank Blimp VW Parts, Der Tranaxle, Proformance Motoring, my dad, my girl,
Patrick for the help with the vendors booth, Kevin for tricking me into thinking
that he had to have that motor to make it to the show (just joking) for keeping
me up for the long drive, my helpers Scott and Kay for putting up with my BS
leading to the race and my neighbor for watching our cat.
I am looking forward to the Dyno Day.
What can two kadrons do?
