DISPLACEMENT/ 1584cc ( 1600cc )
CASE  Type 1
, New  AS41 mag case or we can use one of the new Aluminum cases.
Note that the aluminum case is 18lbs heavier than the mag and can run up-to 30* higher oil temps.

Each motor comes tapped for full flow
All motors from us come  set up for full flow use.You can run a real oil filter  now and not just the stock screen!
You can also add some more oil cooling with a extra oil cooler if needid.



You can add  Piston oil coolers that squirt oil on to the back of each piston to help keep them cool.
Add $140.  This is a must for turbo combos that are going to push the max with boost on pump gas.
Shoud be used with high compression motors that are going on the street.

You can add Sand seal
This will help keep your motor clean
Add $60.00.  Sand seal is not just for off-road use.
It will help keep the engine compartment clean.  It's a must on nice street cars with turbo or high rpm combos.
You must run a breather box now as your stock case vent has ben sealed up!

CRANK/
We start with New Balanced 69mm Forged 4340 Counter Weighted crank.
This crank has ben: magna fluxed, shot peened, nitrided and micro polished.
Wedge Mate
add $210 Wedge mating is for drag use only.
If you are going to visit the track with street tires than no need.
But if you plan to add slicks you shoud add wedge mate.

RODS/
New Forged 4130  "I" - Beam rods These rods are each Balanced magna fluxed and shot peened.
We only use real ARP bolts. We perform a comprehensive rodbolt stretch test and setting to each and every bolt.
This may sound like we are going too far but we believe it is necessary to insure there is no chance
of rod or rod bolt failure. Ask the other shop if they have a rod bolt strech gauge?


PISTONS/
  85.5mm pistons that are forged from
Mahle, We balance each piston and add Tru-Arc clips, not the stock clips.

RINGS/
Mahle cast iron
This way they seat fast and last!

CAM/ 
We have our LBC line of turbo cams to pick from. For carb combos we will pic from Web, SLR or Engle cams.
At this time we have not completed our carb cams and shoud have then complete in 2007.
We will help you pic the cam.

LIFTERS /
Solid Billet LBC High Performance Lub-A-Squirt  lifters.
We use 28mm for small cams and 30mm for the larger cam combos. All of our lifters come with .024" oil hole to lube
the face of each cam lobe.
(not the luba-lobe lifter sold from Scat.)

STRAIGHT CUTS/
If this combo is going to se high RPM's or going turbo then we will use steel on steel straight cuts.
We do not charge extra for straight cuts so let us know if you want them!
I know that using straight cuts will lessen the load on the cams thrust when using
valve springs with extra lbs on the seat. So i will add them to your combo if needid.

VALVE SIZE & MAKE /
For 1600cc motors we use  35mm x 32mm

  Made by Marnel and are  Stainless Steel

That size valve is still a big valve so dont let the stock size full you!

VALVE SPRINGS/ 
Bugpack
HD duals for the high HP combo that will se extream rpm's or if the intake valve
will have boost trying to open it! Stock to single high-rev for the street use.

PUSH RODS/
HD Chromoly.  I know that the use of a chromoly push rod on a stock size combo is a over kill, but you know you will
never have a problem with them!
now you can set all valve adjustment at .000" lash!!!
Yes all of our motors are built to be set at 0.0" valve lash for the life of the motor.

COMPRESSION RATIO / 
This will depend on the use of your combo. Most carb motors we build will run around stock VW  7.5:1 and up.
A turbo will run around 7.2:1to 8.0:1(Call for info)

HEAD STUDS/
HD high psi Chromoly head studs! Some say this is a big over kill for only a stock size 1600 but
My motors never have a head stud snap,brake or strech!

FLYWHEEL/ 
Only real Chromoly 4140 12.5lb flywheels or if you want stock weight we use a real German balanced 8 dowl.

GLAND NUT/
All A.J.Sims motors come with a Chromoly gland nut that is torqued to over  400 foot pounds.
This way your flywheel will never come lose!

DEEP SUMP/
Each motor comes with a 1 1/2 qt thin line oil sump

You can have your motor receive our 12 start Brake-in.
This includes oil pressure checking before start-up, False load cam and lifter brake-in, minimum of x12  200* degree
cylinder temp heat cycles. After each 200* degree test run, we place a fan on the motor to cool it quickly. This will help
us to detect any oil leaks or possible problems.Tune the carbs and set your timming so it will run out of the box for you.
We drain the motor of all its used oil and external oil filter. Next we will remove the rocker assembly and re-torque the
head studs to spec, reassemble the rockers and adjust the valves and it is ready to go. 
12 Start Brake-In Add $150

Dyno service on our new 800hp digital Dyno.
It will include the 12 Start Brake-In plus a complete Dyno session to find out what your beast makes.
This is a good idea. If there is a problem this is the best way to find it.
